​It is a scrumptious tofu dish to check out with a bowl of steamed rice. Take a look at the recipe beneath 👇🏼
Recipe (yields three servings)⁣⁣
~ 1 pack 16ouncesfirm tofu, drained & reduce into cubes⁣⁣
~ 1 bunch of scallions (about 1/three cup), reduce into 1-inch lengthy⁣⁣
~ three cloves garlic, sliced⁣⁣
~ 8-10 slices ginger⁣⁣
~ cornstarch⁣⁣
~ oil for pan-frying
~ your favourite cooked grain⁣⁣
~ 1 tablespoon soy sauce⁣⁣
~ 1 tablespoon stir fry sauce (see highlights for home made model)⁣⁣
~ three teaspoons Chinese language cooking wine/Michiu⁣⁣
~ 1 half teaspoons natural sugar⁣⁣
~ 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil⁣⁣
~ salt & white pepper to style⁣⁣
~ 1 cup of veggie inventory/water⁣⁣
✅Dry tofu cubes on paper towels, season with salt. Then, frivolously coat all sides of tofu cubes with cornstarch & shallow pan-fry till golden brown. Place tofu on paper towels to soak up extra oil. Alternatively, spray oil on coated tofu cubes & bake at 490F till crispy on the surface (flip midway). Put aside.⁣⁣
✅To braise, sauté ginger in 2 teaspoons oil on a non-stick pan/ceramic pot till ginger turns barely crispy. Then add garlic & sauté till aromatic. Stir in sauce & prepare dinner for 1 minute till it thickens. Season accordingly to your desire.⁣⁣
✅Lastly, add in tofu, scallions & gently stir tofu cubes till they’re coated effectively with the sauce. Let simmer for one more 1 minute. Chances are you’ll add a cornstarch slurry to thicken the sauce if wanted.⁣⁣
🤤Serve heat along with your favourite grain.
